Welcome to La Cour de Lavande, our Bed and Breakfast (Chambres d’Hôtes) and Gîte situated at La Lègue near Duras. We believe we have created a situation of tranquility and beauty in the heart of the stunning countryside of the Lot and Garonne. The property consists of two houses renovated from a 350 year old farmhouse and barn encircling a lovely courtyard, filled with lavendar, roses and thyme. It is rented out as a Gîte, mainly during the peak season, and provides B&B accommodation at other times. Both houses retain a myriad of exposed stone walls, beams and character while providing chic style, comfort and modern facilities including free WiFi access, satellite TV with British channels, CD player and ipod dock. The houses are large and there is a feeling of space and light, enhanced by pale paintwork and beautiful fabrics. There is a huge inglenook fireplace in the guests' lounge where fires are lit during colder months, a sunny terrace with built-in barbecue, large swimming pool and many quiet areas to sit and read or sunbathe. There are lots of books, magazines, games and a huge collection of music CD's to relax with.
The property is situated in the small hamlet of La Lègue, 1 km from the village of St Sernin de Duras and 7 km from the charming town of Duras famed for its' wines and chateau. We are surrounded by plum orchards, vineyards and fields of sunflowers and nearby are historic towns such as Bergerac, St Emilion and Monflanquin. The glorious Dordogne is easily accessible as a day trip. There are bustling local weekly markets, a plethora of vineyards with the award winning Domaine Chater (...and its weekly 'vineyard suppers' where guests can enjoy superb 4 course meals and copious wine at tables set amongst the vines) only a few hundred metres away.
There are three bedrooms available for chambres d'hôtes (B&B) and each has its own bath/shower room ensuite or adjoining. Two of the bedrooms are large and can easily be transformed into Family Rooms with the addition of one (or even two) bed/s.

There are low cost flights to Bergerac (50 mins away) from many UK regional airports. You can also take advantage of cheaper midweek flights and start your stay with us any day of the week!
